Our Philosophy The South Dakota Coalition for Responsible Taxation (formerly the No More Taxes Coalition) is comprised of South Dakota businesses and associations who believe the power to tax should only be used in the most careful manner. Our mission is to provide information to South Dakota’s legislators, government officials, and citizens in support of our policies on the issue of taxation. The SDCRT believes taxes should only be raised as a last resort and should not be targeted at specific groups of citizens. We do not oppose all tax and fee increases. But we believe short-term needs caused by drought and temporary economic downturns should be met with budget reserves and not with new, ongoing taxes.
